I'd just like to go on record and say that Nate Hill is doing some amazing work. E.V.E. stunned me as did A.D.A.M. Seeing both together laid out rather simply on the floor of Silent Barn brought to mind an Autopsy. It felt new in a way a work of art hasn't felt to me in years. The main thing is that what I was looking at didn't correlate to what I have seen. It was a collage, a fantasy, a sculpture and a bastardization of humanity all at once. These creations made from largely salvaged animal parts are not sculpture they almost act more as a blueprint. Most importantly Hill doesn't take the easy road and uses the animal parts in novel ways, wings become hair rib bones become shins. Each individual part of his creations is fascinating. E.V.E. reminded me of a witch, the Baba Yaga in particular for any Hell Boy fans reading, in the terrifying fairy tale sense, twisted by ugliness and evil into something slightly malicious but apart from the notions of good and evil. A.D.A.M. feels different he is, Frankenstein's monster. It is important not to think of this as commentary but rather as artistic progression. The artist has gone from a basic creation that looks stitched together by human hands and into the realm of something that stands on its own. E.V.E. does not look like the creation of a man but rather something that created herself. Hill's creation myth differs from my interpretation but to me E.V.E is a creation of her own vision. Even if the idea started with a name she much more made herself than A.D.A.M. and it shows. Both pieces share characteristics, E.V.E just stands as less a novelty and more a work of art.

Bike Kill 6 Weekend

I love Bike Kill. I really really love bike kill. To take stock of an event that is a block party on steroids, destruction without intent, a one day gathering that people come from all over the country for and something that was once called "the hardest, purest event of the year," is a near impossible task. For one Bike Kill is when every scummy drunk bike enthusiast you know descends on New York. I had the Crucifixed club (or at least a large portion of it) staying at my house, Skidmarxxx were in from Texas, Rat Patrol from Chicago, Cutthroats from all over, Black Label of course and even some kind of reincarnated New York Chunk. I probably missed a few. Friday night I went to the Chicken Hut meaning to stop by have a beer and say hi to some friends from out of town that I might be too drunk to make sense to the next day. That one drink turned into a 5 am roll out with the Crucifixed kids and my roommate waking up to find a bunch of drunks on our couches doing some illicit substances. Anyway Bike Kill was a couple hours away so I suited up and went to meet a friend for some huevos rancheros and Dos Equis. I had already had at least 3 beers and a big glass of whiskey. Rolling into Bike Kill is like being a straight up celebrity. I was greeted by beer, liquor and a rousing chorus of "thejake is here!" Thanks guys. The Chaos is hard to describe broken glass everywhere swing bikes, surf bikes, tall bikes, choppers, tall choppers, a flamethrower bike, shopping cart bikes, dough everywhere, gallons of blood both fake and real. There were people diving into a giant foam vagina. The mood is amazing, everyone sharing beers and passing around bottles of liquor, strangers just meeting for the first time hugging and rolling around in filth. Good time jams blasting from the dj tent and people letting any stranger ride their bike. By six o'clock people are making out a long the fence and I saw at least two people just wandering around naked , many more were half dressed or rocking just a vest and no shirt. One moment I look up and someone is huffing paint in front of children, another I look up and Danny is being carried out on a surf bike his foot looking like a sack of meet hanging off his leg. Every friend from out of town has assaulted you at this point you have been sprayed with more malt liquor than you new existed but you are still going. All of a sudden fireworks start exploding everywhere. You are getting ready to shoot off a bottle rocket and a giant foam skull hits you causing the bottle rocket to explode in your hand. A girl you don't know starts hugging you in a way thats a little too familiar. You see a friend get knocked off a tall bike while jousting. The rain picks up and the rest of the night is a blur. I missed the after party because I passed out drunk at my friends, two hour nap my ass. I spent the next day sitting around taking inventory with my house guests everyone has unexplained bruises, scrapes and burns. We are drinking beers and gin at ten a.m.

My favorite event of the year is this weekend. I do not get really psyched for much. I rarely go to shows anymore, I don't really have any parties I regularly attend. I lose my shit for Bike Kill. Black Label Bike Club puts it on every year (you know those kids with the denim vests). It is an absolute celebration of everything thats fun. Think every awesome party/ bike event condensed down into its most enjoyable stupid parts. Yeah we crash bikes and drink beers all day but hey lets dance and hook up with a stranger all night. Thats bike kill. So get out your best outfit (that you don't mind having blood, piss, and beer on) and grab as much booze as you can brown bag. This will be epic.

Umm... So yeah I don't actually own a camera anymore. I have some pictures left over but that will be the last picture post for a long time. I might make some posts using other folks photos... anyone down to help out with that? Long story short though I got hit by a car while I was riding my bike saturday night and my camera got busted. Its a bit of a bummer but that is life I guess. Anyway maybe this will get me to actually write more. I have an excellent recipe or two to share and some stories that are 60-90% true. Anyway update later this week more news when I figure some shit out.

Making the Most of Summer

I took most of this summer off from full time real employment. I made a few dollars but I tried to spend it really enjoying myself. Now fall is here and its back to work but not back to school but you know thats life. I spent some time out at Coney Island with friends who look tough when they smoke.

I spent some time with kids who were getting a taste for NYC and a little bit more respect for how hard we drink up here. (he also maybe won a pooping contest.)

I got drunk hung out with girls and took glamour shots in the middle of the street (there are like 20 more of these that might get posted in the future).
I even made a few classy and mannered friends. (he is also a master of magnetism... sexual magnetism!)
I actually took so many pictures I think my friends started to get bored of posing for them.
So I started to cover their faces with masks.
even though I am sure the face under this one is good...
Its best to be careful.
Some people never get tired of posing though...
and I am grateful for it.

I think half asleep, drunk and sweaty is a perfectly ok way to live your life.

This was the first time I felt like an old man.
This girl made it a mission to get me really drunk this night. So I can honestly say that...

So we had a pig roast at my folks in the woods. By the end of the night I had taken a lot of shrooms and threw the pig's head over a row of cars using my mouth.

This was early on just chilling in the grass hanging out with my soon to be future new roomie and a friend. This is preshrooms.

So this Friday two people who live in the Chicken Hut got married. and that this was Liza's birthday my post on it made it look like she spent it alone...Those last two are from my first trip to Baltimore

I know you think I didn't have it in me...

I know I went away for a while and I changed the name of this blog yet again but its the truth...
In fact as a test I told Jack that Famous Monsters was the best Misfits Album.

And thats how I started my New Years Eve, I ended it with a question as well...

The ending question was, "Why are you all hanging out in a puddle of vomit?"

Alot happened in between though.

A fat kid loved cake...
A grown man dressed like a pre-teen Japanese girl...Someone broke their edge...
Someone started an adult erotic modeling career...
And Finally if q: who loves ass and titties then a: this dude...this answer also would have been acceptable for q: who has the best t-shirt ever.
